Epilepsy Action Australia
Overview
Epilepsy Action Australia (EAA) was looking to launch a medicinal cannabis information site. This was to be a dynamic website with short sharp pieces of information on medicinal cannabis.
Challenge
EAA wanted to launch this site in phases. As part of Phase 1 launch which was to be held at the CannaTech conference, the website was to contain 3 information-based videos on Cannabis. The website was also to include stories around people using Cannabis and how expensive it was for a normal person to afford it. The site was to also include support on the usage of Cannabis as a drug for epilepsy across different countries and Australian states.
Solution
The Cannabis animations were developed using Adobe Flash and After Effects and converted to self-playing mp4 videos. The videos were then included on the Cannabis website accessed via the Vimeo platform in order to enhance the website performance. The 3 videos that were developed are:
- The Endocannabinoid System
- Understanding Cannabis
- Cannabinoids and Epilepsy
Each video length is around 2-3 minutes.
The Cannabis website was developed using Word Press so EAA could edit text/pages as required. The site was deployed on Flywheel to handle the extra traffic that would have been encountered due to its launch at the CannaTech conference.
